We serve once a month always on the second Saturday of the month from 10:00am to 12:00pm. There are many different ways you can serve, everything from directly helping clients shop to sorting the donations as they come in, stocking shelves, to working behind the scenes. There is a way to serve that will fit your passion and gifting.
Jesus always made it very clear to those that followed him that they were to look out for the poor and needy. In fact, it is as we share and bless others that we receive our own blessings. When we serve, we generally get more out of it than those we are serving. It brings such joy to spend time with people, hear a bit of their story and see Jesus in them as we serve them. To that end, it has always been very important to us as a church to serve those in need. One of the ways we do that is to serve the hungry at the Crystal Lake Food Pantry.
Matt 25:34 “Then the King will say to those on his right, `Come, you who are blessed by my Father; take your inheritance, the kingdom prepared for you since the creation of the world. 35 For I was hungry and you gave me something to eat, I was thirsty and you gave me something to drink, I was a stranger and you invited me in, 36 I needed clothes and you clothed me, I was sick and you looked after me, I was in prison and you came to visit me.’.. 40 “The King will reply, `I tell you the truth, whatever you did for one of the least of these brothers of mine, you did for me.’
Every Sunday morning there is also a food pantry donation basket where you can leave your
food donations.
The Crystal Lake Food Pantry is located at 42 East Street, Crystal Lake Il 60014.
