It’s easy to see that Jesus loves children and sees them as an important part of His kingdom. Here at the Vineyard we feel the same way. It is our desire to see our kids grow in their knowledge and relationship with Jesus through prayer, Bible study and worship, and by encouraging them to invite Him into every part of their daily life.
“Whoever welcomes one of these little children in my name welcomes me,” Mark 9:37
“Let the little children come to me, and do not hinder them, for the kingdom of God belongs to such as these.” Mark 10:14
“My sheep listen to my voice; I know them, and they follow me.” John 10:27
We believe that in God’s Kingdom everyone gets to play, and that Jesus wants to empower our kids to reach out to those around them. Praying for each other on Sunday is an important part of what we do. We also encourage the kids to ask Jesus every day to show them ways they can make a difference. Whether it is by words of encouragement, acts of kindness or service, or the power of prayer, kids play a special role in bringing Jesus to this generation.
“Train a child in the way he should go, and when he is old he will not turn from it” Proverbs 22:6
Our Sunday school teachers know how important the Bible is to helping kids grow in their knowledge and love for Jesus. It’s another way Jesus can talk to them. Our curriculum is filled with exciting stories of God and His people. Teaching kids how to use the Bible to find out what God has to say and how they can apply those truths to everyday life is an essential part of every lesson.
“For you created my in most being….I praise you because I am fearfully and wonderfully made;” Psalm 139:13 – 14
“The Lord is compassionate and gracious…abounding in love” Psalm 103:8
We believe that God’s love for His children (from the youngest to the oldest) is the greatest love there is. In a world where children are at times undervalued, it is our desire for each child to know that God’s love is unconditional, and that He truly is their forever friend.
