Plant more Grass: What kind of seeds are you sowing?

Plant more Grass: What kind of seeds are you sowing?

What Seeds are you sowing? (2024)

Matt 13:24-278 It says that the man panted good seed. And from that Good seed a crop of wheat came up.

  • Then an enemy planted weed seeds and weeds came up.

Here is the first part of the basic of the principle I want to show you.

  • If you plant wheat seeds you get wheat plants.
  • If you plant corn seeds, you get corn plants.
  • If you plant acorns, you get oak trees.
  • If you plant weed seeds, weeds will grow,

Here is the thing you need to see about this. This principle applies to all areas of our life.

  • You cannot get away from this principle.

Proverbs 18:21 The tongue, what we say, has the power of life and death.

  • What we say can be one way we plant seeds. There are many ways to plant seeds, what we speak is just one way.
  • Could the words you have been saying be the seeds of the fruit now present in that situation?

Palm 109:17-18.  a literal word for word. “And as he loved cursing, so let it come to him. And as not he did delight in blessings, so let it be far from him.”

  • David is speaking of his enemy.
    • This enemy of David loved to pronounce and speak curses.
      • But then David says, may it come back to him.
      • If you plant the seeds of curses, they will come back to you.
    • Then David says, “he found no pleasure in blessing.
      • So may blessings be far from Him.
    • If you don’t plant good seed, so good will come.

So what do we do? The best way to get rid of the weeds is to plant more grass.

  • We overcome by planting more good seed. Not focusing on the bad.
  • Plant more of what you want and then care for those seeds.

Proverbs 11:24 When you plant the seeds of generosity you will bear the fruit of abundance.

  • If you withhold generosity, you come to poverty. A poverty mindset.
  • This principle works even if you are already the one in poverty.
  • Proverbs 11:25If you plant seeds of generosity, you will prosper.
  • The word “refreshed” means “to be saturated, or to drink one’s fill”
    • If I meet the needs of others, I will be filled and refreshed myself.
  • Psalm 41:1-3 The word “weak” at the end of verse 2 is the Hebrew word for “poor.”
  • The Hebrew word translate here as Blessed means happiness or blessed.
  • The NLT renders it, “Oh, the joys of those who are kind to the poor!”
  • “Blessing, protection, being sustained, being preserved, and being restored in health for those who have regard for the poor. This is how you plant seeds of blessing into your own life.
