True flourishing as Kingdom people requires embracing both authority (the God-given capacity for meaningful action through our gifts and calling) and vulnerability (willing exposure to meaningful risk and potential suffering). Rather than seeking safety and control, we are called to follow Jesus’s example by developing our spiritual authority through time with God while simultaneously taking risks to serve others, pray for the sick, and share the gospel—living in the tension of both divine empowerment and human weakness.
